Photo from yelp.comBeen there a couple times. Didn't realize how expensive it's. I didn't realize it was expensive because the first time I had their famous "French Dip Sandwich" I didn't pay. But the second time around I did pay which made me realize that it's not cheap at all to eat at Philippe's.
Certainly worth the price of the sandwich as I paid a total of $12 for their "French Dip Sandwich" plus a side corn chowder soup. A 2 item lunch for $12 can add up quickly if it's on a daily basis.
Now, both items were delicious. Will it blow you away when you are happily enjoying the sandwich? Hmmm... I don't think so. It's good stuff. Certainly felt full once I finished my lunch but I couldn't stop thinking about the price. I know of a different place that sells roast beef sandwich's that are just as good & fulfilling for under $4.
I would recommend it though if you are around downtown & looking for a spot to get a fulfilling lunch.
