Got the chance to try Animal not too long ago. I must say it's quite a dining experience. The space of the restaurant has a very cool vibe to it. I guess it comes w/ the territory of having a place on Fairfax Ave. But you come for the dining experience. The menu seems to change on a daily basis per their online menu but when I was there everything I tried was intriguing, delicious & unique. I think it's certainly a restaurant worth trying if ever in town. The service was great. The place wasn't too loud. And the food was amazing. I tried a number of different dishes including the the "pig ear, chili, lime, fried egg", "barbeque pork belly sandwiches, slaw", "foie gras loco moco, quail egg, spam, hamburger" and a few others and none of them disappointed. Had a glass of wine, and a sweet dessert to finish of the nice dinner ("bacon chocolate crunch bar, s&p ice cream" & "tres leches, dulce de leche"). Now, keep in mind that the dishes served are more so to share w/ the rest of your group instead of individual plates which is great because that way you get to try a little bit of everything. So, all and all it was a great food experience that left me intrigued by the types of dishes. One thing though, it's not vegeterian friendly so if you are vegetarian then this is probably not the restaurant for you unfortunately.
